"In the hospital, self-control and teamwork are important, because one man is no man»

Nadezhda Kubasova, a pediatrician at the Children's Medical Rehabilitation Center, completed her third shift at the COVID hospital. The doctor admits that the first shift was the most difficult: in July, at the peak of the heat, there were 50 patients in the triage department. "Then, I was gaining experience, and there were a lot of questions. But we seriously prepared: we watched webinars every day, studied the recommendations of the Ministry of Health, corresponded with Kazan doctors, and read after each shift. I had to adjust a little, but it was not bad to switch from Pediatrics to Therapy because I graduated from the general medicine faculty and completed my internship in Pediatrics. There was no fear of getting sick: we were all protected in the hospital. But there was a panic that I would not be able to help every patient. Still, we managed well everything, " Nadezhda Nikolaevna said.

The doctor thanked her colleagues with whom she worked in the hospital, and those who stayed in touch at any time. "Zulfira Kiyamutdinovna Ganieva gave us a full briefing and continuously informed us about innovations. We had many challenging patients, and she has always supported us. A pulmonologist Elvina Rustamovna Abyzova and a young physician from Kamskiye Polyany Vadim Shaysultanov were of great help to us as well. If there was a serious patient, we quickly gathered, got in touch with narrow specialists, and decided together. The endocrinologist of the Nizhnekamsk Central Regional Multifunctional Hospital, Galina Pecherskaya, was also always in touch, regardless of the time of a day. She has never expressed dissatisfaction, was ready to help, and called back to find out how we were doing.

I was fortunate with the nurses, too. Nadezhda Shamsieva, an Infectious Diseases Department nurse with 39 years of experience, and Yulia Shevchenko, a nurse from the Surgical Department # 1, competently performed all procedures. Many thanks to our nurse assistant Fanuza Khamitova, who took care of the patients.

Despite all the difficulties, we managed and saw only the right attitude from the patients. The main thing is to talk, explain, and find words to calm patients down. In the hospital, you need self-control and teamwork, because one man is no man."
